After beng without a phone for almost 2 weeks Brightstar finally wanted to honor the contact. However, after going back and forth with Brightstar and Boost through the BBB and the State Insurance Commissioner, which no one wanted to allow us to get a replacement phone,...
We have been bounced between Boost Mobile, LG Electric and Brightstar Device Protection, with no one honoring the insurance or the warranty. I left Boost after being with them 4 years because they refuse to honor the insurance which has been paid since purchasing the phone. Due to a no contact battery expanding in the phone and causing a hairline crack over that area LG Electric denied our claim. Brightstar denied the claimed stating it was the manufacturer problem.
15 calls to customer service and a manager that actually hung the phone up in ky face and changed the name, email and dob on the account because he thought we wouldn't get the text that it was changed. He was supposed to email verification that the insurance company is supposed to give us a new phone for the premium cost of $20. The BBB response from Boost saids the same thing. However, when we call or go online to file a claim every time it's been denied.
$70 dollars was stolen from us.
Brightstar Device Protection has an open investigation against them for fraud with the insurance commissioner, state attorney, FTC and our bank. My advice DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH BOOST MOBILE OR ANY COMPANY THAT HAS BRIGHTSTAR DEVICE PROTECTION AS THERE INSURANCE COMPANY, ALSO, DON'T DO PURCHASE LG PRODUCTS.

Disgusted
Do not waste your money on this service and do not cause yourself untold misery by using this service. I thought my phone was stolen and I requested a replacement device.
Brightstar sent a replacement device after me paying them $452.00. When I found my phone, I promptly advised Brightstar and received incompetent direction on how to return the replacement device. Brightstar promptly blocked by phone service. It will be 20 days between the replacement device arriving at their facility (verified by tracking) and me (hopefully) getting my phone unblocked.
All in, I've been 25 days without service on my business phone. Apparently, I have paid $13.00 a month to Brightstar for many years and $400 per month to Rogers for 20+ years in order to be denied access to my business phone for 25 days.
In addition, I have spend more than 4 hours of my valuable time calling Brightstar and Rogers. Absolutely unacceptable, totally frustrating and massively inconvenient.DonnDo

I have signed up for this cellphone protection plan recommended by the store that I purchased my three cellphones from and paying the monthly premium until recently when my daughter's phone screen was broken and I tried to file a service request for repair.
then I realized there was a $79 deductible for repair and $150 for replace the phone which I did not have any problem. lets say I had no choice.
I was asked to turn off "Finding My Phone" feature on the phone and I DID it.
and I was told this time that this was not done cause they had a different number in their system and DO NOT know why.....
My request was not processed when I realize that the IMEI # on the system was different than the actual IMEI # on the phone itself. then I was asked to send the Proof of Purchase (PoP) and I did it. And no response!!
called them up few times and every time I a told that they cannot proceed, even when I was willing to pay the fee, and nothing they can do and it feels like what have done wrong? you signed up for a good reason and now you spend hours on the phone for the service that you expect to receive when you need.
Now I called them up and spend an hour on the phone from one person to another to supervisor that she does not even bother to intervene and TRY to help...
I sent the Pop and I was supposed to receive a confirmation #, but doing it five times while the customer service rep was on the phone all these time and no confirmation came through...
All these is for me that I signed a contract with an honest reason, paid my premium, and not getting service.
I WILL NEVER use their service EVER again.
